Global ETF launches 29.7.21 to 5.8.21

ESG has dominated the week’s launches in all its various forms, with Paris-aligned ETFs from BlackRock and HSBC, and clean energy from new entrants to the ETF field, Duff & Phelps and a solar ETF from Invesco.

Shipping, which has been a top performing ETF according to Trackinsight’s tables for some time, has a new ETF, from SonicShares which has announced the launch of the SonicShares Global Shipping ETF (NYSE Arca: BOAT), tracking the Solactive Global Shipping Index and giving investors with pure play exposure to a portfolio of global companies engaged in maritime shipping.
Bitcoin has reappeared in ETP form with the launch from Melanion Capital, the Paris-based investment management company, which has just obtained the AMF approval for its first ETF which will track the performance of the Melanion Bitcoin Exposure Index. “It is also a major step for France which once again proves its open-mindedness on cutting-edge subjects and its desire to be a pioneer vis-à-vis other countries in Europe but also in the world,” the firm writes. “The SEC for example has still not given its approval to the many bitcoin ETF applications, some dating back as far as 2013.”
