Vincent Denoiseux, Head of ETF Research and Solutions at Lyxor, has commented on ETF flows over June, reporting that it was another strong month for fixed income and ESG.

Lyxor’s research covers 29,369 funds, some 92 per cent of all Europe domiciled funds and ETFs and covers EUR9.75 trillion of total assets.

Key takeaways include the fact that inflows into ESG ETFs grew at a record pace, gathering EUR3.7bn of inflows, predominantly into Equities. Lyxor reports that inflows were driven by strong appetite globally for USD and EUR corporate bonds (EUR16.8 billion) and high yield (EUR9.1 billion).

In Europe, fixed income funds and ETFs gathered a combined EUR34.2 billion in net new assets, with EUR25.7 billion into open-ended funds and EUR8.5 billion into ETFs.

Equity funds and ETFs gathered a combined EUR18.2 billion of net new assets, with EUR12.9 billion into open-ended funds and EUR5.3 billion into ETFs, Lyxor says, while ETFs gathered EUR14.2 billion in June, with EUR8.5 billion in Fixed Income and EUR5.3 billion in Equity ETFs.

Smart Beta ETFs gathered EUR0.6 billion, led by a EUR0.7 billion gain in Smart Beta equity ETFs.
