 The Chicago Booth Private Equity Conference (PEC) is an annual event that brings together financiers, students, and entrepreneurs to network and share insights into the dynamics of investing in a constantly changing economy. The PEC aims to provide high value to private equity practitioners by combining knowledge from both the industry and academia that would be hard to find in any other setting. Through a series of engaging keynote addresses and panel sessions, leading industry individuals offer expertise and thought leadership on issues important to both the financier and entrepreneur. Themed "The New Vanguard: Success & Differentiation in a Challenging Marketplace" the 2013 event features several prominent private equity industry leaders: Howard Marks, Co-Founder and Chairman of Oaktree Capital Management; Bruce Rauner, Chairman of R8 Capital Partners and former Chairman of GTCR; James A. Quella, Senior Managing Director and Senior Operating Partner at Blackstone; and John A. Canning, Jr., Co-Founder and Chairman of Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC. The conference also includes an exciting lineup of panel discussions, followed by a cocktail & networking reception to close out the day.

Total US-listed ETF assets reached a record-setting USD2.0 trillion at the end of 2014, up from USD1.7 trillion a year earlier, and inflows totaled USD244 billion for the year. Global gross domestic product (GDP) growth should accelerate somewhat in 2015 and 2016 from the pace of the last three years because of much lower oil prices, the avoidance of special drags on the world economy, and continuing easy monetary policies from global central banks, according to  BNY Mellon Chief Economist Richard Hoey.
