Barclays Bank to de-list nine Canada-listed ETNs

Barclays has elected to de-list nine iPath exchange-traded notes (ETNs) from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).

The ETNs in question are:
iPath CBOE S&P 500 BuyWrite Index ETN
iPath EUR/USD Exchange Rate ETN
iPath GBP/USD Exchange Rate ETN
iPath JPY/USD Exchange Rate ETN
iPath Optimised Currency Carry ETN
iPath S&P 500 VIX Mid-Term Futures ETN
iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN
iPath US Treasury Flattener ETN
iPath US Treasury Steepener ETN
The ETNs will continue to trade on the NYSE Arca Exchange after they have been de-listed from the TSX. The final trading date on the TSX will be 26 May 2014, and the ETNs will be de-listed after the close of trading on such date.
“Investors have shown a preference for trading US dollar-denominated ETNs on a US exchange,” says Ian Merrill, head of ETNs, Americas. “As a result, we have voluntarily taken the decision to de-list all nine of our iPath ETNs from the Toronto Stock Exchange later this month. The ETNs will continue to be listed on NYSE Arca.”
