Wed, 05/02/2014 - 11:54

FinEx ETF, an international investment management company and provider of exchange-traded funds, has appointed Martin Bednall as managing director of ETFs.

Bednall will be responsible for ETF operations including portfolio management, product development and capital markets.

He will report to Simon Luhr, managing partner of FinEx Capital Management.

Bednall was previously at BlackRock/iShares where he was managing director, iShares product. He has over 18 years’ experience in asset management, brokerage and custody operations with BlackRock, Barclays Global Investors and State Street.

Luhr says: “Martin has a wealth of talent and experience. He has managed complex multi-asset class transitions, integrated portfolio management businesses and was responsible for ETF product development at iShares. We are delighted he has joined our growing team.”

Bednall says: “FinEx is a dynamic and fast-growing business while ETFs have immense potential on a global scale. It is an exciting prospect to take FinEx’s proposition to such a marketplace. The next challenge to me is to take FinEx ETF beyond the Russian ETF market, where we already see some positive shifts in recognition of ETFs.”
