New exchange-traded fund provider Solutions is planning to launch its first fund – a long-short equity ETF – according to regulatory filings made with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
According to the prospectus, Solutions’ AltShares US Long/Short Fund will primarily hold shares of ETFs, as well as shares of certain exchange-traded products that are not registered as investment companies under the Act.
The initial fund may also hold US or non-US fixed income or equity securities, depositary receipts, currencies, closed-end funds, cash and cash equivalents.
Solutions is headed by Matt Brown and Bill Smalley, who were both executives of the now defunct ETF provider Factor Shares.
