ETF Securities (UK) has hired former Bank of America Merrill Lynch executive Matt Johnson as head of distribution for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Johnson reports into Graham Tuckwell, chairman and chief executive officer of ETF Securities.
Johnson will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the group’s distribution strategy across the EMEA region. He brings more than 20 years of institutional distribution experience to the role and was most recently at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was co-head of derivative sales across EMEA and responsible for a number of content driven sales teams as well as the bank’s client management group.
Prior to his time at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Johnson held senior positions in equity derivative sales at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley and before this he worked at JPMorgan Asset Management.
Tuckwell says: “Matt’s appointment strengthens our commitment to deliver market-leading service to our clients. He is highly experienced and has a keen insight into the evolving needs of institutional investors in the EMEA region. With more investors looking to gain exposure to commodities, we want to ensure that our clients have the support they need every step of the way.
“Matt brings a wealth of expertise to the senior management team, and will help to expand the business as we continue to develop liquid, cost-effective and transparent investment solutions.”
