VelocityShares to launch first ETFs
VelocityShares, known for its range of volatility-focused exchange-traded notes, is planning a first foray into the exchange-traded fund space, according to filings made with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
VelocityShares’ initial line-up of five ETFs, which have been submitted to the SEC under the ALPS ETF Trust name, will feature two hedged large-cap equity funds: VelocityShares Tail Risk Hedged Large Cap ETF and VelocityShares Volatility Hedged Large Cap ETF.
There will also be three emerging markets funds: VelocityShares Emerging Markets Depositary Receipt ETF, VelocityShares Russia Select Depositary Receipt ETF, and VelocityShares Emerging Asia Depositary Receipt ETF.
VelocityShares will be responsible for the creation of the index strategies for the hedged ETFs, while the emerging markets funds will be based on indexes from BNY Mellon.
