Asia Pacific ETP AUM adds USD3bn amid bullish equity markets

Assets under management of Asia Pacific exchange-traded products increased by USD3bn last week and ended at USD118.1bn, according to Deutsche Bank.

On a year-to-date basis, Asia Pacific ETP market is up by USD26.6bn or 29.1 per cent above last year’s closing.

Asia Pacific ETP turnover totalled USD7.1bn last week, 8.2 per cent up from the previous week’s total.

South Korea continued to top the turnover ranking with USD3bn, followed by China (USD1.5bn), Hong Kong (USD1.2bn), Japan (USD0.7bn), and Taiwan (USD0.2bn).

Among equity ETFs, the emerging country, leveraged strategy, Asia Pacific developed country, and short strategy ETFs had total turnovers of USD3.2bn, USD1.5bn, USD1bn, and USD0.8bn respectively.

Among the commodity asset class, turnover in gold ETPs totalled USD232m.
