Horizons announces ETF closures

Horizons Exchange Traded Funds Inc and its affiliate Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc are terminating certain exchange traded funds (ETFs) effective at the close of business on Friday 12 October, 2012. 

The ETFs being terminated (collectively, the Terminated ETFs) are as follows:

Horizons BetaPro NYMEX Natural Gas Inverse ETF (HIN)
Horizons BetaPro NYMEX Crude Oil Inverse ETF (HIO)
Horizons BetaPro NYMEX Long Natural Gas/Short Crude Oil Spread ETF (HNO)
Horizons BetaPro NYMEX Long Crude Oil/Short Natural Gas Spread ETF (HON)

Effective today, no further direct subscriptions for units of the Terminated ETFs will be accepted. Friday 5 October, 2012, is expected to be the last date on which a redemption request may be placed with the Manager, and the Terminated ETFs are expected to be de-listed from the Toronto Stock Exchange, at the request of the Manager, at the close of business on or about Tuesday 9 October, 2012, with all units still held by investors being subject to a mandatory redemption as of 12 October, 2012, the termination date.
