PowerShares files for emerging market and dividend ETFs

PowerShares is planning to launch two new exchange-traded funds having filed paperwork with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for a PowerShares Fundamental Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio and a PowerShares S&P 500 High Dividend Portfolio.

PowerShares is planning to launch two new exchange-traded funds having filed paperwork with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for a PowerShares Fundamental Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio and a PowerShares S&P 500 High Dividend Portfolio.

According to the SEC filling, the emerging markets ETF will seek “investment results that generally correspond (before fees and expenses) to the price and yield of the Citi RAFI Sovereign Emerging Markets Bond Index”, which includes bonds issued by the national governments of Brazil, Colombia, Chile, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Thailand and Turkey.

The S&P 500 High Dividend ETF meanwhile, will track the S&P 500 High Dividend index, which is designed to track the 75 S&P 500 constituents with the highest dividend yields.
