Tony Rumble, a leading Australian financial educator has joined BetaShares in the newly formed role of Head of Portfolio Construction. Dr Rumble will join the BetaShares distribution team with his primary responsibilities being to lead BetaShares’ asset allocation and portfolio construction strategy, as well as providing ETF education and analytics to the financial adviser and SMSF trustees.

Dr Rumble has a diverse background in financial services over 25 years ranging from legal counsel, partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and lecturer at the University of New South Wales before founding two successful businesses.

Dr Rumble worked as a full-time academic at ATAX UNSW in the 1990’s and retains a close involvement in academia and regulatory policy. Tony has consulted extensively to peak regulators including ATO, ASX, OECD and was an external consultant to the Commonwealth Government’s “Review of Business Taxation” in the late 1990’s.

He is also an accomplished author and presenter contributing to topics ranging from investment, tax and financial markets across broadcast and print media, including a regular contributing column to the Eureka Report.

Dr Rumble commenced with BetaShares on 30 January and will work closely with another recent hire Vinnie Wadhera, who was appointed as Director, Portfolio and National Account Sales earlier this year.

Prior to joining BetaShares, Dr Rumble was the founder of Alpha Financial Products. He also founded LPAC Online, an independent service provider to the Australian financial planning and accounting community with a client base of 4,000. The company provides end to end solutions for users of direct investments including education, training, asset consulting and investment solutions.
