Three new listings for US ETP market

There were three new listings in the US exchange-traded products market in the week ending 23 July, all of them listed on NYSE Arca.

AdvisorShares launched an active ETF seeking long term capital appreciation with exposure to the international markets.

Global X Management listed the first ETF focusing on Lithium; the ETF will seek to achieve its objective by investing in companies involved in the Lithium industry.

Van Eck Funds listed a fixed income ETF offering access to emerging market sovereign debt in local currency.

Total ETP inflows in the US add up to USD3.8bn during the week, according to the report by Deutsche Bank. Equity and fixed income ETPs had inflows of USD3.5bn and USD1.0bn, respectively. Commodity and currency ETPs, on the other hand, experienced outflows of USD621m and USD123m, respectively.

Within equity ETPs, US sector ETPs received the largest inflows (USD1.3bn) followed by small cap ETPs, while leveraged ETPs saw the largest outflows (USD326m).

The fixed income ETPs space saw strong inflows again this week, with corporates ETPs (USD606m) and overall ETPs (USD147m) leading the positive flows.

Commodity ETPs experienced outflows driven mainly by gold ETPs (USD466m).

Average daily turnover remained at around the same level at USD71bn.

US ETPs assets under management rose by 3.2 per cent to USD818bn at the end of the week. Equity ETPs account for 73 per cent of the assets with USD595bn, followed by fixed income funds with USD139bn and 17 per cent of market share.
